The Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index rose 117.57, or 0.8
percent, to 14,095.73 yesterday in Toronto. The benchmark, which is
0.6 percent below its June 18 record, is still up 0.7 percent this
week, headed for a second straight weekly gain.
