Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM US) rose $1.02, or 3.1
percent, to $34.11. The world's largest grain processor was
upgraded to ``buy'' from ``neutral'' at Banc of America
Securities LLC. Analyst Ed Roesch said the company could benefit
from inexpensive corn at harvest. Cheaper corn may lower the
company's ethanol costs and boost the company's earnings
prospects, he wrote.
