US STOCKS-NYSE imposes trading curbs as stocks tumble

(Reuters) - The New York Stock Exchange Composite Index , which
is used to determine when to begin trading curbs, was down
205.45 points, or 2.07 percent, at 9,724.47.




The trading curbs require that all program selling of S&P
500 stocks must be on an up-tick.

AMR rises after Goldman Sachs ups target

(Reuters) - Barry raised the share price target to $26 from $22, although AMR shares were trading at $28.01 on the New York Stock Exchange in late morning trade.




He linked the higher target to an assumption that the price of jet fuel will fall relative to price of crude oil in the fourth quarter of 2007 and all of 2008.

UPDATE 1-Concho registers IPO at $14-$16/shr price band

(Reuters) - In an amended filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission, the company said it plans to sell about 13.3
million shares, while some stockholders will sell the remaining
about 7.9 million shares.




Midland, Texas-based Concho said it has been authorized to
apply for listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the
symbol "CXO."

Apple iPhone margins 55 pct, shares rise: ISuppli

(Reuters) - In January, iSuppli, which does not include costs for royalties and logistics, said it had estimated a $264.85 hardware and manufacturing cost for the eight-gigabyte device.




Apple shares rose $4.42 or almost 4 percent to $125.68 on Nasdaq after the news. Shares of AT&T Inc. , the exclusive U.S. service provider for the phone, were down 35 cents at $41.50 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Symetra Financial files for $750 mln IPO

(Reuters) - In addition to the affiliates of White Mountains Insurance
Group Ltd. and Berkshire Hathaway Inc., who led the investor
group that formed Symetra, others from the original investor
group may participate in this offering as selling stockholders.




The Bellevue, Washington-based company, which has applied
for a New York Stock Exchange listing under the symbol "SYA,"
told the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission in a
preliminary prospectus that Merrill Lynch & Co. and Goldman,
Sachs & Co., among others, were underwriting the IPO.

UPDATE 2-Dutch Basell to buy Huntsman for about $5.6 bln

(Reuters) - Under the terms of the agreement, Basell will acquire all
of the outstanding common stock of Woodlands, Texas-based
Huntsman for $25.25 per share, the companies said in a
statement.




Huntsman shares jumped 28.4 percent to $24.26 in early
trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Blackstone shares fall nearly 6 pct on 2nd day

(Reuters) - Blackstone units slid more than 5 percent in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange, dropping as much as $2.06 to $33.00.




The units rose 13 percent in their Friday market debut to $35.06, in contrast to the wider market, which fell sharply.

Cosan files for $2 bln IPO

(Reuters) - The filing did not reveal how many shares the company
planned to sell or their expected price. Cosan expects to be
listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CZZ."

Most Stocks Drop, Led by Oil Shares; Bear Stearns, Schlumberger Retreat

(Bloomberg) -- Most U.S. stocks fell, led by
energy companies and brokerages, after the price of oil dropped
and analysts cut their price estimate on Bear Stearns Cos.

Schlumberger Ltd., the world's biggest oilfield services
provider, led a decline by 31 of 32 energy companies in the
Standard & Poor's 500 Index. Bear Stearns, the U.S. securities
firm trying to prevent two of its hedge funds from collapsing,
dropped after CIBC World Markets Inc. cut its estimate on the
shares. Almost three stocks fell for every two that advanced on
the New York Stock Exchange.

Honda denies talk of interest in Harley

(Reuters) - Despite scepticism from analysts and market participants,
Harley-Davidson shares and options surged, with 58,535 options
changing hands on Friday -- more than 14 times the daily
average, according to figures from market research firm Track
Data.




Its share price gained as much as 6.4 percent before closing
Friday's session up $2.43, or about 4 percent, at $62.55 on the
New York Stock Exchange.

GLG sells stake, sets up U.S. listing

(Reuters) - The combined company, named GLG Partners Inc., expects to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "GLG" once the deal is consummated in the fourth quarter.




Freedom shareholders will own about 28 percent of the combined company, while current GLG stockholders will own about 72 percent, GLG said.

UPDATE 1-Finish Line to buy Genesco for $1.5 bln in cash

(Reuters) - June 18 - Finish Line Inc. said it agreed to acquire larger rival Genesco Inc. for $54.50 per share, or about $1.5 billion, in cash to enhance its footwear and apparel portfolio.



The offer price represents a premium of about 9.9 percent over Genesco's Friday stock closing price of $49.60 on the New York Stock Exchange.
