U.K.'s FTSE 100 Drops for Sixth Day; Anglo American, Cadbury Pace Decline

(Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks fell for the sixth day,
the longest consecutive decline since November.

Anglo American Plc and Antofagasta Plc paced the retreat
after Cazenove lowered its recommendation on the mining
companies' shares. Cadbury Schweppes Plc, the world's biggest
confectionery company, dropped to a five-week low.

GLG sells stake, sets up U.S. listing

(Reuters) - The combined company, named GLG Partners Inc., expects to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "GLG" once the deal is consummated in the fourth quarter.




Freedom shareholders will own about 28 percent of the combined company, while current GLG stockholders will own about 72 percent, GLG said.

Comton to acquire Stylus Energy for C$19 mln

(Reuters) - The deal, which includes the assumption of about C$12
million of net debt, represents a 20 percent premium to the
most recent closing price of the common shares of Stylus, the
companies said in a joint statement.

Private equity leads European cable deals- report

(Reuters) - The report singled out Cinven [CINV.UL], Carlyle Group,
Providence Equity Partners and Warburg Pincus [WP.UL] as being
particularly active.




Private equity actively invested in the cable industry in
the wake of the 2002 technology sector bubble bursting.

Axa, Casino, EADS, France Telecom, Remy Cointreau: French Equity Preview

(Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies
may make gains or losses on the Paris stock exchange. Stock
symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close.

France's benchmark CAC 40 Index fell 6.54 points, or 0.1
percent, to 6023.25. The SBF 250 Index also lost 1 percent.

Rand steady ahead of data heavy week

(Reuters) - South Africa's rand was steady against the dollar on Monday and traders said the unit will probably be rangebound as investors brace themselves for a slew of market moving data this week.

The rand was trading at 7.1595 versus the dollar at 0630 GMT from a New York close of 7.1625 on Friday.
