Japan Stocks Fall on U.S. Subprime Concern, Ruling Party's Election Defeat

(Bloomberg) -- Japanese stocks dropped after a
report on economic growth in the U.S. showed residential
investment slumping as the subprime problem worsens, pointing to
a weaker outlook for Japan's largest overseas market.

Toyota Motor Corp. and Canon Inc. led exporters lower after
the yen advanced to the highest against the dollar in more than
three months, reducing the value of their overseas sales.

Japan's Stocks May Drop on U.S. Subprime Concern, Stronger Yen, LDP Defeat

(Bloomberg) -- Japanese stocks may drop after a
report on economic growth in the U.S. showed residential
investment slumping as the subprime problem worsens, pointing to a
weaker outlook for Japan's largest overseas market.

Toyota Motor Corp. and Sony Corp. may lead exporters lower

Asian Stocks Fall on Lower Metals, U.S. Earnings Concern; Toyota Declines

(Bloomberg) -- Asian stocks fell for the first time
in three days after metals prices dropped and earnings reports in
the U.S. suggested demand is cooling in the region's biggest
export market.

Toyota Motor Corp., the world's largest automaker by market
value, and James Hardie Industries NV, the No. 1 supplier of home
siding in the U.S., led declines on concern a housing slump is
harming growth in the world's biggest economy. BHP Billiton Ltd.,
the largest mining company, was set for its biggest slide in
almost two months.

Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average, Topix Index Fall; Toyota, Sony Lead Drop

(Bloomberg) -- Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average
fell 73.50, or 0.4 percent, to 18,115.13 at 9:02 a.m. in Tokyo.
The broader Topix index dropped 6.13, or 0.3 percent, to
1777.86.

Toyota Motor Corp. and Sony Corp. led the declines.

Asian Stocks Gain on Yen, U.S. Economy; Toyota Rises, China Reaches Record

(Bloomberg) -- Asian stocks rose for a third day,
led by exporters, after the yen weakened and a report showed
inflation slowed in the U.S.

Samsung Electronics Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. led
technology companies and automakers higher. BHP Billiton Ltd.
climbed to a third straight record after metals prices advanced.
Five of the region's benchmarks jumped to records, with China's
CSI 300 Index adding 3.2 percent.

Japanese Shares Climb to Highest Since Feb., on Easing U.S. Inflation, Yen

(Bloomberg) -- Japanese stocks advanced, driving
key indexes to the highest since February, after a report showed
U.S. core consumer prices slowed, increasing speculation Japan's
biggest overseas market will expand without adding to inflation.

Toyota Motor Corp., the world's largest automaker by market
value, and Honda Motor Co., which made more than half of its
sales in North America last year, led gains.

Japan's Shares Climb, Led by Nintendo, on Higher U.S. Spending, Weaker Yen

(Bloomberg) -- Japanese stocks rose after U.S.
retail sales jumped by the most in more than a year. Exporters
including Nintendo Co. led gains on speculation higher consumer
spending and lower borrowing costs in Japan's largest overseas
market will lift profits.

Exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp. also got a boost after
the yen weakened to the lowest against the dollar since 2002,
and the Federal Reserve said in its Beige Book survey the U.S.
economy is growing without stoking inflation.
